The state uses the Florida Teacher Certification Examinations (FTCE) and the Florida Educational Leadership Examination (FELE) to ensure teachers demonstrate mastery of basic skills, professional knowledge, and content area of specialization. The FTCE features three tests: General Knowledge (GK), Professional Education (PEd) and Subject Area Examinations (SAE). Below is information about each of the FTCE tests as well as the FELE, which is used for school administrators such principals.
